Step 1: Copy the tweet URL
Open the tweet with the video you want to download. On mobile, tap the share icon and select "Copy link." On desktop, click the share button or copy the URL from your browser's address bar. The link looks like https://x.com/username/status/123456 or https://twitter.com/….
Step 2: Paste it into XDown
Paste the tweet link into the box above (or on the XDown home page) and press Download. XDown checks the public post and finds every available MP4 quality, including HD (720p) and Full HD (1080p).
Step 3: Save the video
Select the quality you want. The MP4 downloads straight from X's servers to your device — no conversion, no watermark, no signup.
Download Twitter videos on iPhone and Android
XDown works in any mobile browser. On iPhone and iPad, Safari saves the MP4 to the Files app under Downloads — open it, tap Share, then Save Video to add it to Photos. On Android the MP4 goes straight to your Downloads folder. You can also add XDown to your home screen to use it like an app.
Download Twitter videos on PC and Mac
On Windows, macOS, Linux or a Chromebook, paste the link, pick a quality and the MP4 saves to your Downloads folder. No extension or software to install.
Tips for saving Twitter videos
Only public posts can be downloaded; private, deleted and age-restricted posts are not supported. Choose the highest resolution for the sharpest picture, or a lower one to save space. For animated GIFs, use the Twitter GIF downloader. Always respect copyright and only save videos you have permission to use.
